I am a huge fan of many Star Wars games, which include KOTOR I & II, Jedi Academy, etc. So, The release of SWTOR made me extremely excited, especially when finally seeing the trailers for it. A while ago, SWTOR seemed like a myth that would never come to fruition and my attitude was "I'll believe it when I see it".

My ongoing experiences playing games like WoW and Guild Wars made the standards I set for this one very high. Sure, I am very aware of Bioware's expertise in making good RPG's but, MMO's are a different field here. When I heard rumors that they were working on an MMO, my confidence that they could pull it off was a little low. The part of this that gave me hope was that I thoroughly enjoyed Bioware's previous games and that I really wanted a different gaming outlet other than the two games I mentioned earlier. I thought to myself, if they do this right, I won't have to touch another MMO again. I mean this from the bottom of my heart because there really hasn't been a game to rival or surpass WoW in it's genre.

SWTOR is the game to anticipate for a number of reasons. First, the graphics may not be Oblivion like but, this means that I don't have to get a new graphics card or just buy another PC so my game won't freeze. Second, the side activities are amazing. Not only do you get companions but, you can send them out to do diplomatic missions for you that will earn you light or dark side points. In addition to that, they can do your crafting for you while you focus on more important matters. No, it doesn't stop there! There is the aspect of space exploration to consider which makes it seems like two games in one. You get your own ship, travel to other planets, and get into plenty of fights in space as well. Lastly, I can't leave out the story. This game picks up where the second KOTOR leaves off. Plot is a huge aspect of the game and given the foundation Bioware has to build on, I am confident in their ability to pull me in.

In conclusion, I have only scratched the surface where SWTOR is concerned but it's enough to justify my extreme excitement for it's release.
